black cracker aka Ellison Glenn  is one of those quiet artists who scream the most. I got to know him a couple of years ago, I took notice of him through his poetry, since then he came a long way, even helping out the guys at converse.

I was lucky to shoot him once before little bar gig in Kreuzberg, it was for my portrait project. I had literally no time for setup, space was limited and crowded, out was the smoking room of the bar, so people were sitting everywhere.

for this kind of assignments you can only work with speedlights and wireless triggers. it’s such a joy placing the little flashes in tiny corners! I even use a beautydish with on a monopod.. so, left hand monopodbeautydishflash and right hand the cam.

shooting took 15min and he was ready for the gig.
